Modern-Parish based Heritage map of North Mayo - West Sligo

As part of St Cormac’s Society Local Heritage Mapping Project, kindly supported by Mayo County Council Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2021 and the Heritage Council, the first modern-parish based heritage map of North Mayo was produced, under the direction of Dr Liam Alex Heffron

All previous maps were based on obsolete civil parishes and the new modern parish boundaries were plotted, based on volunteer interviews with GAA club officers, local parish priests and parish natives, with research using local history journals and parish registers. This was combined with the Mayo Sites and Monuments dataset.
