Slabhra, Ballycastle Belderrig
Meaning ‘chain’ in English (as in ‘daisy chain’ or ‘Slabhra Sí’), Slabhra was a short-lived annual publication by the communities of Ballycastle and Belderrig in North Mayo. Published from 1979 to 1982, it contained many articles of local interest written by members of the community and contained aspects of history, heritage, genealogy, sport and social notice, with photographs and advertisements from nearby small businesses and shops.
